Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are used mainly for improving the appearance of damaged, stained or decayed teeth.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

A porcelain veneer is a thin covering that goes over your tooth and is made from a tooth-coloured material.

They can also be used to fill in diastemas (gaps between your teeth) or to align teeth.

How are Porcelain Veneers Installed?

Usually, porcelain veneers are installed over two appointments. The first appointment begins with a consultation where the dentist fully explains the procedure to your satisfaction. Your feedback is important in this session so the dentist can fully understand exactly what you need.

After the consultation, the dentist will remove a sample of your tooth enamel and create what is called a “wax up” of your teeth. The dentist sends this impression to the laboratory where they make a cast of your teeth. The dentist places dental wax over the mould, allowing you to see how the veneer will look on your teeth. If you are satisfied with how it looks, the dentist will schedule another appointment to fit your veneer.
